Under the NAAC Assessment & Accreditation Framework 2025, the National Service Scheme (NSS) Committee is an important institutional body supporting Attribute 6 – Extended Curricular Engagements (community engagement, outreach, social responsibility, environmental sustainability, health awareness, and nation-building).For Degree Colleges, the NSS Committee should function in accordance with the National Service Scheme Manual, Ministry of Youth Affairs & Sports, Government of India, while also maintaining documentation required for NAAC 2025.
Although NAAC does not prescribe affixed committee size, a 13 member NSS Committee is considered an ideal best practice.
